I wish the author had kept going. Write a customer review. Regarding blss own children’s reading, she says “As a mom, I want my kids to read any book they want! She also, however, makes friends with a girl named Sandy, who is large, largely made fun of, and, really isn’t very likeable.
I was racing through the pages to see what would happen and then everything happened within the last 15 or so, which wasn’t enough in my opinion. Near the end, Myracle tries to change that; by that point, I was already feeling the book was in need of serious editing. This was, however, very well written.
He rushed over to the school with a rifle and because of all the chaos Sarah Laueen fell from the stage and landed on the floor, she hit her head and a pool of blood surrounded her. A girl lets her cat suckle her breast and then later suckles the pregnant cat’s teats.
What does she do about it?
I couldn’t put it down while I was reading it! Overshadowing, or perhaps illuminating, the story are pages, in between chapters, containing excerpts from the Charles Manson Family trial during that timeframe.

So this sounds like it could be a typical high school girl friendship story, where the outsiders overcome the cruel popular girl, right? This alone makes it worth bkiss. It excelled in the witch-y aspects the sense of another world being beyond our own and the ability of Bliss to access it but characters like Sandy, Sarah Blias, and Mitchell fell completely flat. If I liked horror genre books, I might have given this more stars, but I am not really into Stephen King kind of stuff.
Books I’ve Learned From. You guys have to wait until to read it though!!!! Bliss had an interesting premise, but a poorly executed plot and flat characters. Instead, she lets them fade away.
I still flew through this, loved the Southern Gothic stuff when it worked, liked some of the explorations of friendship, and liked the race stuff, as heavy-handed as some of it could be.
It’s true that Bliss has removed herself from the world in her grief. How old is your kid? I don’t fly into a rage if the bad guy “wins. The climax wasn’t really what I wanted it to be, though. Bliss also admires and is occasionally jealous of Sarah Lynn Lancaster, the most popular girl in the freshman class. Who calls that a satisfactory read? The alternations between Bliss’s story and the rantings of a mysterious S. Most disturbingly, the girl who kills another girl wins in the end, attracting friends with her newfound “power,” while Bliss is left on her own.
I had many times that I found I had to put the book down for a combination of creepy characters, frustration with the attitudes of the time period, and just sheer scary situations. On one hand, it was a very interesting portrayal of life during the early seventies. However, she did not.
Talk about culture shock! Based on one impression, Mitchell tells her she’s different, and is immediately smitten by her.
